ASX will be using blockchain to process equity transactions
There is no specific date reported on when the ASX will shift towards blockchain technology. But they will be working with Digital Asset Holdings, which is a blockchain startup by Blythe Masters, a former JP Morgan Chase banker, on the matter.
It is touted that blockchain technology is a more efficient and less expensive way to track trades. The technology will replace ASX's current Clearing House Electronic Subregister System, otherwise known as Chess.
Will this be the start of a trend among equity markets across the globe?
