Remember the hackers that stole $80 million or so from the central bank of Bangladesh?

  • Reuters report now that not only did they get away with more than $80 million, they also probably hacked in SWIFT (SWIFT is Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication - it provides a network that enables financial institutions to exchange information about financial transaction details, such as buy and sell currency settlements)
  • SWIFT is to release an update to address malware that may be targeting its software
