BOC Gov. Stephen Poloz to step down in June 2020

Bank of Canada's Gov. Stephen Poloz announces that he will step down in June 2021 his mandate expires.

The Bank of Canada kept rates unchanged at the most current meeting this week at 1.75% and gave a more positive spin.

The employment data today at of Canada was less than stellar however with net change in employment coming in at -71.2K. That was the largest decline since 2009. The unemployment rate also spike higher to 5.9% from 5.5%.
