Carney spoke in Canada

Bank of England Governor Mark Carney is back in Canada and addressed a university commencement.

He didn't touch on the outlook for rates or the UK economy but shared some wisdom on the trends in the global workforce.

On jobs, he said "it is entirely unrealistic to map out the decades ahead... Many of the jobs and even the industries of today will be gone tomorrow."

He said it is a 'total accident' that he ended up in central bank and as the leader of the BOE. He touched on his tenure, saying he will decide before year-end whether he will stay on for a full eight-year term.

Carney also touched on the inequality in the workforce.

"Today, those who are blessed with talent and opportunity can reap tremendous rewards," said Carney. "Gains to success are magnified in the global marketplace. Now is the time to be famous or fortunate."
