- Questions if EU will have the 'courage' to sanction Italy
As mentioned yesterday, we're headed for a collision course next Tuesday as Italy is almost certainly not going to revise their budget proposal by deadline day. They will then enter into discussions but I don't see how a resolution can be achieved unless Italy's government forgoes its election campaign promises or the European Commission chickens out and let Italy walk over it - setting a really bad example to the rest of the bloc.
