Johnson will fight for a deal
Boris Johnson has not ruled out keeping a time-limited Brexit backstop deal, according to two people cited by Bloomberg.
There were reports earlier in the week that the EU had informally discussed some kind of time-limited backstop but that convincing Ireland to accept it would be a major challenge.
