Johnson also said the pound 'soared' after the March 2 Lancaster House speech. Even if we were to attribute the entire move in the six-weeks afterwards to the speech (which we shouldn't because it was more about Carney's hawkish stance), then a 500-pip move isn't exactly soaring.
