This after the shutdown in the Forties pipeline system

The commodity hit a high of $65.33 per barrel and there's not much resistance to hold it back from heading towards the $67.50 region that we saw back in 2015.

The surge came after it was reported that the North Sea Forties pipeline system would be closed for repair works - after they discovered a hairline crack. It is reported that the repair may take up to several weeks.

The pipeline carries about 40% of UK North Sea crude oil - and it transports about 450,000 barrels a day.
