E-minis are flat on the day but Chinese equities are losing out again

There's still hints of better risk sentiment across markets in general following another red day in Wall Street on Friday, but currencies and bonds are still treading carefully as we begin the day. The yen is a little bit on the back foot against the dollar but to be fair we're still seeing very flattish tones as we await European markets to open.

E-minis are basically flat on the day now but Chinese equities are suffering at the break with the Shanghai Composite down 1.5% and the CSI 300 index down 2.3%.

That's causing for some indecision among equity investors and that won't help risk sentiment and market direction as we head into European trading later.
