wholesale trade (+34.1k), construction (+28.8k), information, culture
and recreation (+23.6k). FT employment +44.1k, PT +8k. Unemp rate edged
up to 7.4% from 7.3% as more people (+72.6k) entered the labour market.
Employment in goods servicing sector +34.5k, in service producing sector
+17.6k. Employment in pvt sector +29.1k, public sector -10.8k and self
employed +33.8k.
CANADA DATA:August building permits +7.9% vs -2.8% in July. All
gains resulted from higher intentions in the non-residential sector
(+25.2%) which more than offset the decline in the residential sector
(-2.3%).
