Trudeau and Morneau will make an announcement today on lowering the business tax, according to CTV.
The entire ploy is part of a counter-offensive. They've been working on some changes to tax rules to limit things like corporations paying spouses and children of the owners for work they weren't doing and closing some loopholes.
Business lobbies have been aggressively pushing back.
Now, after taking the heat, they deliver a tax cut. This week, the Liberals will also be revealing some clarity on proposals to close loopholes as well.
The Canadian dollar is the laggard today, with USD/CAD up 70 pips to 1.2539.
