Beijing has lowered expectations for progress from US trade negotiations this week, according to Chinese officials briefed on the talks cited by Reuters.

Goodwill ahead of the talks was damaged by the US Dept of Commerce blacklisting 28 Chinese companies this week, a move that the report says 'surprised and upset' officials.
