In statements released by the China Iron & Steel Association and the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association

Both statements said that companies represented by the association "strongly oppose" the tariffs that are set to be implemented by the US, following Trump's signing of the proclamation yesterday.

The China Iron & Steel Association said on a statement on its website that it "appeals for the Chinese government to take resolute measures against imports of some U.S. products including stainless steel, galvanised sheet, seamless pipe, coal, agriculture products and electronic products".

Adding that "Trump's behaviour is a challenge to the global steel industry and will definitely encounter opposite from more countries".

Expect more of the same to come from Europe later when once them politicians step into the office.
