Comments by Chinese premier Li Keqiang

  • China must prepare for difficulties
  • Economy faces more downward pressure this year
  • Calls for stepping up of targeted economic control
  • Will encourage expansion in domestic consumption

Things are getting serious in China. It is reported that these comments are from Li as he gathered Chinese economists for a meeting to discuss on the economy. He made a mention on the importance of tax cut benefits towards the economy, basically hinting that markets should not panic as authorities are there to ensure that economic growth will be sustained.

If you hadn't notice already, it seems like we're getting at least one or two commentary(ies) from Chinese authorities on the economy every day as of late. That's when you know that they really mean business.
