Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the situation

The report says that China is considering buying some US agriculture products as a gesture of goodwill amid the resumption of trade talks between the two countries. However, it is said that the volume of purchases is likely to be smaller than before the previous truce. The purchases reportedly could include soybeans, corn and pork.

Well, steps towards the resumption of trade talks are indubitably good but this still doesn't present much of a solution to the more structural issues that both sides are failing to reach an agreement on.

We always know China has no problem in stepping up purchases of US products but it is more pressing issues like the exchange rate and IP protection that remain the sticking points in negotiations and this doesn't change that.
