China retaliatory tariffs on $16 billion US goods to begin on 23 August

China's commerce ministry responding to the US tariffs announced earlier

Tit-for-tat. The tariffs are set to kick into effect on the same day as the US tariffs which was announced earlier here.

They add that the decision by the US to impose the $16 billion worth of tariffs is "very unreasonable" and that they had to make the necessary counter-measures. The tariffs to be imposed on US goods will also be levied at 25%.
