China said to set a lower GDP growth target of 6% to 6.5% in 2019
According to Reuters sources
- China to keep consumer inflation target at 3% in 2019
- Likely to keep budget deficit target below 3% of GDP in 2019
It wouldn't be too surprising if they kept a range target for this year since there are many factors that are still uncertain which could play a role in impacting economic growth, most notably US-China trade relations. For some context, Chinese officials continue to maintain that the country will still post a GDP growth figure of 6.5% in 2018. So, that's the benchmark in terms of growth targets for this year.
