The NDRC is China's state economic planner

Says China will strengthen counter-cyclical adjustments in its macroeconomic policy

  • will keep economic operations within reasonable range
  • will continue to implement proactive fiscal policy, prudent monetary policy
  • will implement larger tax and fee cuts in 2019
  • will ease funding difficulties for small and private companies
  • will deepen reform of state capital and state-owned companies
  • will strengthen monitoring of economic situation, improve policy reserves

These sort of statements are attracting more attention as the data from China shows les momentum. Chinese authorities will seek to pull more fiscal and monetary levers to stimulate the economy, and meanwhile trade negotiators will try to reach some sort of deal with the US on tariff impositions. The domestic and export economies have both showed signs of slowing 9yesterday's export figures for December were shockers … imports even more so)
