China's head trade negotiator heads to the US on January 30 for high level discussions after last week's negotiations seemed to come off a bit lukewarm
- Trump needs a deal (of some sort of format) as a boost politically
- Xi needs a deal to boost the Chinese economy
A lot of the issues border on the intractable, so will they be left on the sie while something, anything, is worked out? Is it possible negotiations will accelerate with high level talks beginning ahead of January 30?
