China's 1H 2019 trade surplus to the US increased by 12% to ¥954.8 billion

Author: Justin Low | Category: News

According to China customs spokesperson, Li Kuiwen

  • 1H exports to the US fell by 2.6% y/y (in yuan terms)
  • 1H imports from the US fell by 25.7% y/y (in yuan terms)
I wonder how well this headline and the details will sit with Trump when he wakes up later today. This will certainly continue to draw his ire as both sides are trying to get back to the negotiating table again on trade talks.
