The Shanghai composite index is lower for the fifth consecutive session today, down 0.4% to 2217. Yesterday, the index broke below the March low and the technicals point to a fall to at least 2133 with a potential fall to the 2008 low of 1664 — a 33% drop.

Since mid-2009, the Shanghai composite has fallen 19% while the S&P 500 has climbed 38.8%.
