LONDON (MNI) – UK house prices in April rose 0.4% from March
and were 10.1% higher than the same month in 2009, Communities and
Local Government announced today.

The data confirm the trend seen in other surveys of a
maintained if gradual recovery in house prices, despite some worries
that the market could turn down following the bounce it enjoyed through
2009.

CLG said that UK house prices rose by 0.9% in the three months
ending April 2010. This compares with a rise of 4.8% for the
quarter ending January 2010.
