Wilkins comments to come at the bottom of the hour

Bank of Canada senior deputy governor Carolyn Wilkins will speak at 2:30 pm ET (1830 GMT) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The speech part of a communications effort from the BOC. This year, they started scheduling deputy speeches on the day after BOC announcements when there wasn't a press conference. The idea is to clear up any confusion in the statement.

Yesterday's BOC statement didn't leave many unanswered questions. Naturally the market wants to know what will happen in October but Wilkins isn't going to precommit and with the market pricing it at 87%, the BOC would be happy to let the market figure it out.

Another hot topic is business investment, which hasn't been as strong as the BOC forecasts. They may punt on that and blame NAFTA uncertainty but it's an area to watch.
