The full was largely attributed to an increase in the percentage of respondents who say that they find "Jobs hard to get", which can be viewed as a positive for the jobs market. As a result, the conference Board is suggesting that interpretation of the ETI be made with caution.

Initial jobless claims and percentage of firms of physicians not able to fill right now, also were small negatives this month.

Positive contributors included:

  • number of employees hired by the temporary help industry
  • ratio of involuntary part-time to all part-time workers
  • job openings
  • industrial production
  • real manufacturing and trade sales
