Coronavirus - Pfizer, Moderna-style vaccines could be made locally in Australia

Local Australian press carry the report, this probably the most important thing to note, unfortunately:

• Some experts have previously estimated it would ... take up to three years to build a manufacturing plant for the purpose

Ah well, best make a start ASAP then I guess.

• The mRNA coronavirus vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna yielded strong results in clinical trials and are expected to be much easier to reconfigure to cover new viral variants than more conventional inoculations such as AstraZeneca's, which is being made in Australia by CSL.
• the Victorian government had written to Prime Minister Scott Morrison and been in contact with Mr Hunt about the plan.
