LONDON (MNI) – UK house prices rose by 0.7% on the month in May
and by 11.0% on May 2009, the Department of Communities and Local
Government said today.
UK house prices rose by 1.7% in the quarter ending May 2010. This
compares with a rise of 2.9% for the quarter ending February 2010
on a seasonally adjusted basis, suggesting that the underlying momentum
of house price rises is slowing.
The DCLG data provide a fairly definitive idea of the direction of
house prices and the latest report confirms that house prices do appear
to have enjoyed growth of well into double digits until quite recently.
