French diplomatic source via Reuters says that they've signed up approximately €15bn in deals with Iran
The French haven't hung around since the Iranian sanctions were lifted. They've just signed up to a load of potential deals.
It might have been different though as there was a bit of a spat between Hollande and Iranian president Rouhani, as the French refused a request for halal food and to take wine off the table the proposed Elysee Palace lunch.
Italy is in hot water with some of the populace as they have just hosted Rouhani too, and not only did they agree to the meal requests, but they covered up some nude Roman statues in the Capitoline Museum.
Given the state of both French and Italian economies, it's no wonder they're rolling out the red carpet to all and sundry with a euro note in their pocket.
How easily things about naughty Iran are forgotten eh?
