Economic data due from the Asian timezone today (and one Federal Reserve speaker)

Coming up on this first Monday of the new calendar year, some lower-tier data to ease us in gently.

2230GMT – Australia AIG manufacturing PMI for December, prior was 50.1

0135GMT – Markit/JMMA Japan manufacturing PMI (final due today – the flash reading was 52.1), prior was 50.6

While not an economic data release, there is a Federal Reserve speaker due from 2200GMT – Narayana Kocherlakota, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He may generate a few headlines.
