The Dutch FinMin does not want to dig into the EU’s pocket for the first EUR 60 bln as is the present case. He wants the IMF involved from the first euro.

Makes you wonder why China would want a bigger role in the IMF….

Crossing the wires, Irish PM Cowen says Ireland has not applied for aid and is pre0funded until mid-2011.

An EU source says EU ministers are to issue a statement today but does not see a decision on Ireland today.

I guess they will not announce a bailout at 17:00 GMT, at least on the sovereign side. Perhaps a banking-sector specific deal is still in the works.
