The elections here do not affect seats in parliament, but is a gauge of public sentiment of support towards UK PM May and could potentially pose further challenges for her against lawmakers to pull out of the EU customs union.
May's Conservatives have regained control of councils in Peterborough and Basildon, at the expense of UKIP. But partial results in Trafford show that May's party may lose control of the council, one which they have run since 2004.
The key one to watch out for is London results, with Westminister being the notable borough to keep an eye on.
