Caterpillar. McDonalds. Boeing. Chipotle. Amazon. Intel. Microsoft.

Although, the calendar of big names is light today, the week has some high profile names announcing earnings this week. Of course today's trading has been largely impacted by the political news out of France which has dragged up US stocks (and all of Europe too). Will the earnings keep the momentum going.

Below are the major earnings releases:

Monday: Alcoa

Tuesday: Caterpillar, Coca Cola, McDonalds, Chipotle, Lockheed Martin

Wednesday: Boeing, P&G, Credit Suisse, Northrup Grumman, Twitter

Thursday: Dow Chemical, American Airlines, Alphabet, Amazon, Intel, Microsoft

Firday: Chevron, GM, Colgate Palmolive, Exxon Mobile and Phillips 66

That's a pretty good list of stocks from a number of different industries. A big surprise here and there could have an impact on the overall market.

What are the key economic releases in the US this week?

Tuesday: Case Schiller Home Price index. New Home Sales, Consumer confidence

Thursday: Jobless claims, Durable Goods, Pending home sales
