Another rather quiet one in terms of key data
Good day, everyone! Hope you're all doing well today as we head into European trading later. There's been quite a bit of action early on in Asia with NAFTA news hitting the wires - as in previous occasions, there is a possibility of a follow through that will come later.
Anyway, here is what's coming up later in Europe:
0600 GMT - Germany April wholesale price index
Prior release can be found here. The index measures the value of sales made by wholesalers in Germany, it provides an indicator of consumption and retail pattern. A minor data point, but will be eyed upon in terms of sentiment towards the Germany economy to start Q2.
0600 GMT - Germany April PPI figures
A minor data point and a rough gauge of inflationary pressures. Not going to matter all too much considering we already had actual CPI figures released earlier in the month.
0700 GMT - Cleveland Fed president Loretta Mester speaks in Frankfurt
Mester will be speaking on macroprudential and monetary policy at a conference organised by the ECB. There will also be a Q&A session with the audience thereafter.
0800 GMT - Eurozone March current account balance data
A representation of net capital flow in/out of the Eurozone. Not a substantial data point.
0900 GMT - Eurozone March trade balance data
Prior report can be found here. Not an important data point as we already had France and Germany figures released earlier in the month and they account for roughly half of the Eurozone economy.
That's all for the European session today. I wish you all the best of days ahead and as always, good luck with your trading!
