Quite a number of fillers ahead of the US jobs report

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you're all doing well as we get into European trading later. It's that time of the month again and all eyes today will be on the US non-farm payrolls that is to be released at 1230 GMT. However, markets appear to be a little sidetracked by the ongoing trade tensions between US and China - now you can even add Japan to the mix.

That makes for quite an exciting end to the week so let's hope it'll bring some good opportunities to trade.

0545 GMT - Switzerland August unemployment rate

Prior release can be found here. The Swiss labour market has been another reason that is helping to contribute to the feel-good vibe in the Swiss economic rebound, and the latest readings here are expected to maintain that. A minor data point.

0600 GMT - Germany July industrial production data

0600 GMT - Germany July trade balance data

Prior figures can be found here and here respectively. The two items to look out for will be factory activity and exports data. While they may not have an immediate impact on the euro, it feeds into overall German economic sentiment and will have an impact on Q3 growth data in general.

0645 GMT - France July budget balance data

0645 GMT - France July manufacturing, industrial production data

Prior factory activity data can be found here. Minor data points, feeds into overall economic sentiment of the French economy. Not major market movers by any means.

0700 GMT - Switzerland August foreign currency reserves

Prior release can be found here. A look at Swiss reserves, nothing else in particular of note.

0730 GMT - UK August Halifax house price index

Prior release can be found here. A general gauge of UK housing market conditions, not a major market mover.

0830 GMT - BOE/TNS inflation survey - Q3

Quarterly inflation survey, should not contain anything that will move the needle in the pound. The prior survey can be found here. Generally measures inflation expectations over the next 12 months.

0900 GMT - Eurozone Q2 final GDP figures

The second reading can be found here. As this is the final reading, unless the figures are way, way off preliminary estimates then this is very much a non-event.

That's all for the session today. I wish you all the best of days ahead and as always good luck with your trading!
