First up this morning from Australia ... a speech from Malcolm Edey, Assistant Governor (Financial System) at the Reserve Bank of Australia.

  • Its at the 20th Annual Cards & Payments conference 2015, Melbourne

So, probably a good bet to expect no comments on the economy, monetary policy or the AUD

It starts at 2300GMT if the topic sounds like your thing, though.

Economic data today is low-tier importance:

  • 0100GMT - Consumer inflation expectations for May, prior was 3.4%
  • 0130GMT - RBA transactions data for April. These can be interesting as they would show any RBA intervention in the currency market. 'Cept they didn't, so it isn't.

We do get some data from China today that will be a focus - HSBC manufacturing PMI flash for May (expected is 49.3, prior was 48.9)
