PARIS (MNI) – Eurozone consumer morale eroded somewhat less than
expected in November to a 27-month low, according to the European
Commission’s preliminary estimate released Wednesday.
After a 10.2-point slide since June to -19.9 in October, the
sentiment indicator slipped another half point in November to -20.4 —
nearly seven points below the long-term average. Analysts surveyed by
Market News International had forecast a fall to -21 or -22.
The final sentiment figure for November, along with the other
components of the Commission’s comprehensive sentiment survey, should be
released next week.
