BRUSSELS (MNI) – Eurozone finance minister are to hold a conference
call to discuss Greece at 1300 GMT next Wednesday, October 31.
Officials from the European Commission, European Central Bank and
International Monetary Fund – the so-called Troika – hope within the
next few days to wrap up technical talks with Greece that could pave the
way for a E31.5 billion tranche of aid Athens needs to avoid running out
of cash by mid-November.
An EU official, who confirmed the teleconference would take place,
cautioned that a successful conclusion of the talks before the call
“could not be guaranteed.”
