ESMA to ban binary options, restrict CFDs for retail investors

According to a statement by the European Securities and Markets Authority

They've already gone about the issue quite a number of times, easing the leverage on CFDs back in January as well.

The latest announcement here is said to 'protect retail investors' as they fear that excessive leverage from CFDs and the embedded conflict of interest between providers of binary options and their clients poses concerns for investor protection.
