David Cameron, Mario Monti and nine other EU leaders sent a letter to the European Council today entitled “A Plan for Growth in Europe”.
It calls for free trade agreements with India, Canada and others, as well as greater ties to China. The letter generally talks in broad strokes about streamlining regulation and fostering labor mobility.
I don’t see anything controversial so it’s puzzling as to why neither Merkel nor Sarkozy signed on.
