From Stefanie Bolzen: "EU 27 would be ready to extend Article 50 until end of June, several EU sources confirm. One reason given: attempt to calm down parliamentary process."

Cable is absolutely ripping, now up to 1.2833. I think this is more of a sell-the-rumour, buy-the-fact trade than anything we've learned since. May willing to submit to a confidence motion could be seen as a sign she has a plan to win it and come back with something new but I think the motion was inevitable so I'm skeptical.

In any case, there is lots of talk of extending Article 50. The problem is that extending it doesn't solve anything. There's been plenty of time for discussion and negotiation. The problem is that all sides are dug in. Unless there's some movement, it might be better to flirt with the deadline.

Separately, the EU is doing what they said they would do. The BBC is reporting that EU sources are ruling out a special summit or the reopening of the Withdrawal Agreement in the strongest terms.
