I haven’t monitored it exactly, but I’d estimate that EUR/JPY falls during the Asian Friday session 6 out of 7 times. Despite the Nikkei being +1.25%, the retail Japanese market is always wary of nasty surprises over the weekend and invariably sells EUR/JPY on a Friday.
The pair is down at 116.30 from earlier session highs near 116.85.
