A calm start to the day after yesterday's slaughter for the euro
The euro and the greenback are battling over top spot ahead of the European session, but all in all, there's been little to go on so far today.
The former is seeing a bit of a consolidation after yesterday's sharp fall following the ECB decision and Draghi's presser, while the latter is also holding steady following solid retail sales figures overnight. Other major currencies have basically stayed in range and despite being the weakest performer on the day, the kiwi is only sitting in a 30 pips range against the dollar.
Asian equities are also mixed to start the day, so there's very little to suggest any clear theme in trading at the moment.
Here are the ranges that we're seeing so far today for the major pairs:
- EUR/USD - 30 pips
- USD/JPY - 34 pips
- GBP/USD - 28 pips
- USD/CHF - 14 pips
- USD/CAD - 43 pips
- AUD/USD - 26 pips
- NZD/USD - 30 pips
