A mixed bag at the open

The slightly negative sentiment from Asia is spilling over a little to European equities at the open it seems. Some jitters about the trade rhetoric between US and China still lingers and is continuing to weigh on equities.
In China, major bourses pared earlier losses as the Shanghai Composite closed 0.1% lower but the CSI 300 index manages a higher close of 0.1%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index is still down by 0.2% on the day.
