European equities open softer to start the week

Stocks are still seen struggling on the new week

  • Eurostoxx -0.5%
  • Germany DAX -0.4%
  • France CAC 40 -0.9%
  • UK FTSE -0.4%
  • Spain IBEX -0.5%
  • Italy FTSE MIB -0.3%
Meanwhile, US equity futures are trading lower by 0.5% currently. As mentioned earlier, there's a bit of a divergence in markets for the time being. Currencies and bonds are showing a much calmer mood (I reckon the former is following the latter) to start the day.

Bonds are holding steady and we're seeing 10-year Treasury yields up by 1.4 bps to 2.453% at the moment so there's a bit of a contrast in the risk mood. Eventually, traders will have to draw a line and pick a side but we could have to wait until US open for that to happen.
