Softer tones in early trades in Europe

  • French CAC 40 futures -0.4%
  • UK FTSE futures -0.3%
  • Spanish IBEX futures -0.3%

Following a similar tone in E-minis mostly, which is down by about 0.6% currently. The theme here is that there are doubts starting to emerge over whether or not US and China can resolve their differences over the 90 days, particularly when China continues to play down and not reaffirm the action points mentioned by the US since the weekend meeting.

USD/JPY still sits at the lows now as the dollar continues to struggle, at 113.05. EUR/USD is at session highs of 1.1393 while NZD/USD is also climbing higher to 0.6960 as the kiwi remains underpinned from a stronger yuan today.
