European equities playing the catch up game in early trades

  • German DAX futures +0.7%
  • French CAC 40 futures +1.0%
  • UK FTSE futures +1.0%
  • Spanish IBEX futures +0.8%

The moves here are mainly due to the fact that European markets closed deep in the red yesterday before the recovery in US stocks came about. Hence, this is more to neutralise the losses observed overnight.

US equity futures are still rather tepid, E-minis down by 0.2% so that's not giving much direction for European investors to go about so far. But in the currencies space, traders continue to vote on a more cautious tone with the yen and swissie leading gains at the moment.
