Comments by EU chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier

Barnier
  • No-deal Brexit has become more likely but can still hope to avoid it
  • Says that EU can accept a customs union and new relationship akin to Norway deal
  • Only way to avoid a no-deal is for positive majority in UK parliament

The usual stuff coming from Barnier. While parliament is likely to block a no-deal outcome from materialising, it doesn't mean it's ruled out entirely as of yet. And even if they do succeed in preventing it for now, there still isn't a clear way forward.

We're still stuck in this Brexit limbo and now the only event likely to happen is once again another vote on May's deal - said to be on Thursday. Let's see how this plays out over the coming days.
