...and sorting out the weekend headlines

It's good to be back after a week in London at the Finance Magnates London Summit. While I was away the euro, aussie and kiwi staged some decent rebounds. The pound continued to struggle but held its own against the dollar on renewed speculation that the Fed will tap the breaks.

Today the focus will remain on the Fed with New York Fed chief John Williams speaking in a moderated Q&A starting at 1545 GMT (10:45 am ET).

In terms of economic data, it's a light one for Canada and the US. The lone point to watch is the 1500 GMT NAHB housing market index. It's expected at 67 from 68 prior.

Watch for more fallout from the APEC summit and OPEC signals and whatever comes next in the Brexit drama.
