Lowest day in nearly three weeks

Florida coronavirus cases reported today were 8,901, which is the lowest since July 7. That's a bit of a false signal because Monday numbers are almost always lower due to weekend testing issues.

Still it compares favorably to last Monday when there were 10,476 cases on 11% fewer tests. Today's positive test percentage is 11.39% compared to 14.78% last Monday.

The one negative in the report is the median age of new cases rising to 43 from 41 Friday. This has been steadily creeping higher for weeks and fits with the idea that young people would lead in the second wave but then pass the virus onto older contact, leading to more deaths later. In this report, there were 77 new deaths.
