The turnout is strong in the Netherlands

So far the projected numbers from the polling stations are higher than at the last elections in 2012. It's estimated that so far there is a 43% turnout vs 36% in 2012. Several stations had reported 100% turnout, while others have had to call in extra polling booths.

This could mean that the final numbers could come close to matching the highest ever of 88% in 1977. The lowest was 73% in 1998. The 2012 total was 74.6%.

It's good to see a big turnout in any vote and it's looks like the orange squad are out in force for this one.
