The IMF is sprucing up its global economic projections in anticipation of the spring IMF meeting. Globally, a contraction of 0.6% is forecast. The figures in the headline are all radically lower than in the October World Economic Outlook.
Six months ago, the IMF forecast global growth at 2.2% versus the contraction seen today.
